these are our official story board scenes. there a couple that have changed but that because the storyboard was done some time ago.

easter filming.

seeing as we did not finish the filminhg before the beggining of the holidays due to weather conditions we are all set to finish everything off tomorrow. as i have been on holiday for the best part of 11 days it has been almost impossible to do any form of filming. the deadline is tuesday but hop[efully we should be able to have it edited by the end of the day. all thtas left is to finish a few smaller shots and add more information the blogs. hopefully the next filming update post will be saying its all finished. :) im also pleased to say we are all working better together as a group :)

my media expierence so far.

For me personally i think media has been  harder than i first expected. that view has not been helped by the fact that as a group we don't seem to be able to communicate and co-ordinate very well. within the group there have been various days when we haven't been able to film because of other commitments like work on everyones behalf. i just feel that personally i can achieve much more but we cant because people are never available at any one time to film all together.I am concerned time for filming is running short and the deadline is approaching.The group have decided on a date and time next week and i have stressed the importance we all must be available.I find myself frustrated, we as a group are not working together as a team. we have a goal to achieve and we need to work hard as a group to achieve it.

preliminary exercise

This is our preliminary exercise,our task was to film someone walking and opening a door. this was then to be followed by two people exchanging a few sentences of dialogue to finish.

recce shots

these are our initial recce shots. from the beggining you can tell that we had no idea where to shoot but as it gets to the bottom we found a good place and took numerous photos of different angles and shot types.

main project idea outline.

this is one of our initial ideas in detail. it shows where we want to set it out and any props or costumes we want to include.

Copyright infringment rules

When we have finished our final film opening we have to make sure that we either have permission to use certian songs or have at least informed the owner of the song that we are going to use it and that if we dont hear from you we will presume that its ok to use it.

prezi presentation

this is our presentation we did, we are still waiting on the feedback video. in this we show 3 different ideas and explain each of them in turn.

Our main film opening genre and idea plus target audience.

we are hoping to focus our film opening around a thriller genre. we have 3 ideas but we have come to a conclusion that we want to film someone being bullied and then the situation is switched around when one of the group is alone and he bumps into the bully and his big mates who give the bully a taste of his own medicine.


we will be targeting people who like thriller films and are interested by reverse situations. this will probably be around the age of 16+

The Brief

We have started our main task, we are to create an opening to a film. we have a couple of ideas rolling around but they need to be developed more before anything else.

goodfellas opening codes and conventions

This film is presented by warner bros. the beggining of the titles where the warner bros logo is shown may show that the film didnt have alot of m oney to work with. i believe this because the warner logo is the original and not been made to suit or flow with the storyline.
there are also some good camera angles in the first few minutes, there are some close ups in the car and when they have got out there are some match on action of the man in the boot being stabbed and shot

code and conventions in film openings

in the very beginning of this trailer the warner bros logo is used, the logo itself is made to look slightly gloomy and dark to represent the film within itself even though it hasn't officially started yet.

i believe this top show the code and conventions of the harry potter 7 part 2 trailer well.
